Children

Learning to walk is one of the most exciting milestones in a child’s life – for them and the parents.

As the body grows and increasing ranges of activities are undertaken, little bad habits can develop, such as turned in toes or over-pronation. It is important to catch issues with children’s gait early, so that little habits do not become big habits.

Our biomechanical assessment is specially designed for children and looks at the whole of the body to clarify the source of any gait inefficiencies. Podiatrists are quick to prescribe insoles, which can be very effective, but sometimes the issue may be nothing more than a weakness in the core muscles, which can be addressed through home exercises.

During the assessment you will receive impartial advice on the suitability of:

– Total Contact insoles
– Footwear adaptation
– Physiotherapy
